A real gem of sicilian winemaking
Cvrpane is born from the happy marriage between two prestigious and autochthonous grapes, the Nero d’Avola and the Nocera.
A wine which has millennial roots: the Mamertinum, loved by “Giulius Cesar”, cited by the geographer “Strabone” and celebrated by “Plinio il Vecchio” to be among the most prestigious wines.
The denomination is calls us back to the siracusan tyrant Agàtocle, that lived in Messina’s province from 289 B.C. : the “Mamertini” who spread near Milazzo the cultivation of grapes and the production of wine
Today this DOC, recognized in 2004, can be produced in only 34 towns which are in Messina’s province. These are situated in a very narrow region between the “Nebrodi” and “Peloritani”
The Cvrpanè interprets this DOC with elegance and dearly narrated its own territorial identity.
